A. Ideally the cabin needs to sit on a solid, level medium. This is normally achieved using a concrete plinth, but paving slabs can also be used to good effect. If you still wish to use pillars, please also consider how much draft you will get beneath the cabin. The supplied floor joists would need to be supported at no less than 700mm centres

Q. can you do this in a 3 x 2 metre size? cost ?

A. Sorry no, this is the only size the kits come in

Q. Do the cabin kits and shingles for the roof come with all nails and fixings. Is double glazing available as an option on the Arietta log cabin.

A. No, you will need to supply nails for the shingle application. No (again !) double glazing is not available for this cabin

A. If the shingles are bought as an optional extra, enough ridge tiles are provided not only to run the length of the ridge, but also as a the first run of tiles along the roof edge

One thing I thought you should know - On the assembly instructions that I downloaded from your site, it says the base is 2820x2820. On the instructions supplied with the cabin it says it should be 2840 x 2840. I had already built the base! I managed to get around it but thought you might need to make update the insructions. A. Yes, the brighton range of cabins do have a side window as strandard. This can be placed on either side as required

A. Only the floor bearers are pressure treated. We recommend using Cuprinol shed and fence preserver which is an oil based product ensuring longevity of protection

A. We currently do not have a display area. Installation will cost approx £490 for a concrete base and £399 to install the cabin.

Q. I see you do a 3x3 in the Brighton is it possible for you to do a 3 wide by 4 long and if so at what price. This 35mm log has double tongue and groove what are the advantages over the single. Some of the lower parts are pressure treated is the majority of the building untreated and if so what do you recommend as a treatment and at what frequency.

A. Sorry, we only stock the 3x3 and 4x3 Brighton cabin. The double groove provides a greater surface for each log to bond therefore resulting in greater strength and insulation

A. The only option we could offer is an additional double door as per the standard front (but without the side window elements). This would be £136.00

A. The Bristol House is very capable of being lived in all year. The main priority would be to insulate the roof and then floor. There is not a manufacturers option for this but take a look at the Royal cabin details for links to various insulation suppliers

A. The Carina is made from Nordic Spruce. It is manufactured by Gudrum. You can add roofing shingles as an optional extra. Double glazed glass

A. In order to establish internal dimensions, subtract x2 log widths and 160mm from the overall width of the cabin. For example a 5x4 34mm cabin will have an internal dimension of 5000-(68+160) x 4000-(68+160)

A. Both cabins are much the same as far as pack size and weight. W110 H104 L552 Wt1852

A. Certainly no less than 4" (100mm) is advised

A. This customisation is possible on the Devon 5x5. You will need to purchase the double door set at £279.00 and cut the front elevation logs to accommodate the additional door. Delivery is currently up to 4 weeks

A. 2590mm is the depth of the cabin. You would need 5 packs of the standard shingles and 1 pack of ridge tiles. Total price £99.00. There is no veranda available of the shelf for this particular cabin. Assuming a base was in situ, then installation would be £378.00

A. Under normal circumstances, planning will not be required. If in doubt, run it by your local planning office. As far as I am aware, building regs will not be required. Yes, roof insulation (TR27) can be supplied

A. James Suggest yu look at either the Liverpool or Devon option. Additional logs are available to increase the height as required

Q. I am interested in a log cabin. I have heard that 70mm logs used in these cabins can sometimes split. Is there any guarantee against this happening?

A. You are correct in what you are saying and unfortunately there is no way of preventing this even when the wood has been kiln dried. It is a natural product and reacts to the moisture in ambient air.

Q. Is it possible to site a toilet in your log cabins/pavillions? We are hoping to use one of your buildings for a tennis pavillion but need to have a toilet and kitchen facility in it.

A. With suitable plumbing, drainage and partitioning there is no reason why you shouldn't use a cabin for this purpose

A. The Lincoln requires the central partition as it is integral to the structure - sorry
